In recent years, students in Sister Maximilian Marie's Theology classes have longed to visit Italy's sacred sites of Eucharistic miracles and Catholic saints. Thanks to a generous grant from the Kennedy Foundation, this dream came true. On January 7, our Juniors, Seniors, and select Sophomores, along with chaperones, began a 10-day Eucharistic Miracles and Saints Pilgrimage. This transformative journey deepens their faith and inspires them to live as joyful witnesses to Christ.
Ms. Angela Cuba, BLR’s high school Humane Letters teacher, presented an academic paper at the Annual Conference of the St. John Henry Newman Association in July. Her paper addressed the theme of rebirth in Newman’s writing, drawing a parallel between the miraculous revival of the struggling English Catholic Church and the Church's continual renewal through Mary’s role in its spiritual restoration.
Ms. Cuba's scholarly work gained notable recognition, earning her an invitation to appear on the podcast Newman on Tap Presents, where she shared insights from her paper. We are proud to celebrate Ms. Cuba's dedication to academic excellence and her contribution to the broader Catholic intellectual community. Click the link below to listen to the podcast.
Bishop Reicher proudly celebrates senior Katy Bernsen for being recognized as Texas Best Chevy Dealers Classroom Champion.

Katy's contributions extend beyond athletics. She is an active member of the German National Honor Society, serves on the Captain’s Counsel, and generously volunteers her time with the Knights of Columbus.
Academically, Katy excels as well, holding the impressive rank of third in her senior class. She aspires to further her education at Texas A&M University next fall.
