BLR Superheroes Sprang Into Action

Last Thursday at around 6:20 p.m., Dr. Pennell received a notification from our custodial crew about extensive flooding in the lower school library. The Bishop Reicher superheroes responded quickly. Joseph Pankonien, our IT assistant, was working on campus, so he rushed over to shut off the water. Our maintenance crew, Jason Podsednik and Charlie Gonzales, quickly arrived on site to assess the situation. Target Restoration was immediately notified, and a team was dispatched to set up equipment in the library to prevent damage. No damage was done to books, furnishings, or carpet. Target Restoration confirmed the air and carpet were contamination-free with an environmental test and gave us a "clean bill of health." These individuals' prompt response and teamwork averted what could have been a costly and catastrophic situation for our lower school library.
