At Bishop Louis Reicher Catholic School, we are blessed to offer the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) program for our PreK3 through Kindergarten students. Meeting once a week for an hour, CGS is rooted in the Montessori method and provides a hands-on, immersive experience that nurtures children's relationship with God through Scripture, liturgy, and prayer. This takes place in a specially prepared environment known as the Atrium.
The Atrium is a sacred space where our youngest students encounter Christ in a tangible and meaningful way. Using carefully crafted materials, children deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith, connecting classroom lessons with lived experiences of prayer and worship. Each week, our PreK and Kindergarten students visit the Atrium, guided by trained catechists, allowing them to grow spiritually and recognize God’s presence in their daily lives.
Through Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, we foster the growth of our students in mind, body, and spirit—helping them encounter the Good Shepherd and embrace His love more fully each day.
