Demonstrating your faith can take many forms, but one of the most profound expressions is serving those in your community—a principle exemplified by Jesus, who said, "I came not to be served but to serve" (Matthew 20:28). At Bishop Louis Reicher Catholic School, we are committed to reflecting the love and generosity of Christ through active service, fostering a lifelong dedication to helping others.
Our commitment to service begins early, with students from Pre-K to 6th grade participating in age-appropriate community projects. These experiences help our youngest students discover the joy and grace that come from serving others. As they transition to middle school, students are encouraged to complete at least 10 hours of community service annually, with many surpassing this goal. In high school, students are required to complete a minimum of 25 hours each year, contributing collectively to more than 6,500 service hours annually.
This culture of service extends beyond our students. Each fall, Bishop Reicher's faculty, and staff join in the Office of Catholic Schools' Day of Service, standing alongside other Catholic educators in acts of charity and outreach. By serving together as a school community, we model the values we seek to instill in our students, reinforcing the importance of faith in action.
At Bishop Louis Reicher, we don’t just teach the importance of service—we live it. This shared dedication uplifts our community and inspires our students to go beyond what is required, making a lasting impact on the world around them.
