BLR Hires New Director of Music Ministry and New Music Teacher

May 29, 2024We are excited to share some wonderful news with you regarding our church and school community. We have recently hired Mr. Bret Parker as the new Director of Music Ministry and his wife, Mrs. Rebecca Parker, as the new music teacher at Bishop Louis Reicher Catholic School. This talented and dedicated husband-and-wife team brings a wealth of experience and passion for music education and ministry to our community.
Bret Parker holds impressive credentials, including a Master of Music Performance from Illinois State University and a Bachelor of Music from West Texas A&M University. His professional background includes positions as a Band Director, Assistant Director of Athletic Bands, and Adjunct Professor. His extensive liturgical experience includes his role as Director of Liturgy and Music at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wichita Falls, and as the Youth Minister and Music Director at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Borger. Bret’s leadership and musical expertise will be invaluable in enhancing the liturgical experience at St. Louis Catholic Church and nurturing the musical talents of our students at Bishop Louis Reicher Catholic School.
Rebecca Parker also brings an extensive background in music education, with a Bachelor of Music from West Texas A&M University and a Master of Music in Clarinet and Conducting Performance from Illinois State University. Rebecca has considerable teaching experience as a music, band director and adjunct professor. Her dedication to music education and her teaching style will greatly benefit Bishop Louis Reicher Catholic School students.
The addition of Bret and Rebecca Parker is a tremendous blessing for our parish and school. Their talents and dedication to ministry and teaching will enrich our worship and educational experiences. The Parkers’ arrival marks the continuation of a new chapter of musical excellence and inspiration for our community. Bret and Rebecca have five children, two of which will be attending Bishop Louis Reicher Catholic School in the Fall.
